Capito World Trip 2004

Trip Photo Albums

From: Linda Capito Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2004 7:43 PM

We have to wait to download more photo's until we have a faster Internet connection. Maybe in a few days.

We had a great time in New Zealand. It was not that hot, but it rained a lot. We actually cut our stay short by a few days and went on to Brisbane. The weather in Brisbane was very hot at least 90 with 80% humidity. We went on a river boat ride and visited a Koala Sanctuary. That was pretty neat. We wondered around the field with the kangaroos and even fed them.

After Brisbane we headed up to a resort city of Noosa Heads (the sunshine coast) It is a beautiful city on the coast. We stayed 2 nights then headed back south to the Gold Coast. We drove through Surfer's Paradise. What a beautiful beach - but a little too hectic for us. It reminded us of Honolulu with twice young adults hanging out. We continued to a City called Coffs Harbor (on the Gold Coast). We have a 2 bedroom condo facing it the ocean. We have decided to stay here for 4 nights.

Things have been going great, although our dollar keeps depreciating……..

We can't believe that almost one month has flown by.......

First the week in Samoa, next the week in Tonga and now almost 2 weeks in the North Island of New Zealand. We are having great time. Gary's neck is finally feeling better, but Linda caught a slight cold with all the climate changes. That didn't hold us back too much though. We've had a lot of rain here in New Zealand, but we have managed to go here and there in between the rain. Driving on the wrong side (the left side) has been interesting - especially in the downtown areas with tons of roundabouts.

I did not think he would give in, but, Gary finally let me drive. I think I did pretty good. I just got nervous when we got to a big city. We traveled South from Auckland and will be looping around the North Island, with the last 5 days in the farthest North - The Bay of Islands.

On the 17th we are off to Brisbane Australia……..

Hello From Tonga
Gary and I are having a very great time. We have not really done that much but relax, walk, and eat. Samoa and Tonga are both beautiful. Samoa is a little more lush with mountains jetting up and wonderful beaches. Tonga is flat, but just as lush. It was very hot and humid in Samoa and Hot here in Tonga as well, just not as humid. The people are very nice and we are completely relaxed.
Tonight we leave for Auckland and are looking forward to having our own wheels for 2 1/2 weeks.
We hope everyone is doing well. We will post pictures to our website in a week or so, so take a look.
Take Care!
Linda and Gary
